Two Day Eco Print Workshop
June 1 @ 12:00 pm - July 2 @ 3:00 pm
In this 2-day workshop we’ll introduce children to the technique of eco printing, which is a modern adaptation of the tradition of natural dyeing, and Hapa Zome, which is the Japanese art of pounding pigment into cloth to make beautiful designs.
Thursday 1 June 12.00-15.00:
On the first day we’ll prepare the colour baths, make our bundles of cloth and put them to simmer on the fire for a few hours. While the fabrics ‘cook’ we’ll try another technique, called Hapa Zome, to pound the natural pigments onto cloth.
Friday 2 June 12.00-15.00:
On the second day we’ll open up the bundles and then make beautiful frames and postcards for our creations.
It is preferred that you book online so we can make sure that there is enough material for everyone.
